Dr. Naim Otaky is a skilled general surgeon with extensive experience. He currently serves as the Medical Director, Breast Specialist and as a General Surgeon at VM Med. Dr. Otaky is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and completed his residency in general surgery at McGill University in 2003. Dr. Otaky specializes in breast surgery and has published in reputable academic journals. He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians, the Collège des médecins du Québec, and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

Dr. Morris Browman is a distinguished diagnostic radiologist and has served as the Director of Medical Imaging at VM Med since 2012. With a B.Sc in Neurobiology and an MD from McGill University, he completed his radiology residency at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Browman is recognized as one of the best Radiologists in Montreal. He came to VM Med with 18 years of experience from a private hospital practice in New York State. Certified in Canada and the US, he specializes in general radiology imaging, with a focus in breast and musculoskeletal areas.

Lorraine Dontigny

Dr. Lorraine Dontigny is an Obstetrician-Gynecologist at VM Med. She completed her medical training and residency at l’Université de Montréal. From 2000 until 2022, Dr. Dontigny was a valuable member of the LaSalle Hospital’s obstetrics and gynecology team, and an assistant professor at McGill University and l’Université de Montréal. Her expertise lies in general gynecology with a special focus on genitourinary syndrome in postmenopausal women. Dr. Dontigny performs a number of procedures including colposcopy, hysterosonography as well as the unique MonaLisa Fractional CO2 Laser Therapy.

Jeanne Bouteaud is an obstetrician-gynecologist at CHUM. She completed her medical studies at McGill University and her residency at the University of Montreal. She completed her postdoctoral training in Mature Women’s Health under the supervision of Dr. Wendy Wolfman at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto. She specializes in the management of menopause and gynecological sequelae in cancer survivors. She also has an interest in the follow-up of patients with genetic mutations at high risk of gynecological cancer. She combines her subspecialty in gynecology with expertise in quality of care and completed a 2-year fellowship through the University of Toronto’s Centre for Quality and Safety of Care.

Dr. John R. Keyserlingk is a skilled breast specialist who was the founding physician at VM Med. He completed his training at McGill University and a Surgical Oncology Fellowship at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the American College of Surgeons, and the American Society of Head and Neck Surgeons. Dr. Keyserlingk is dedicated to breast cancer prevention and early detection. He is also actively involved in the National Consortium of Breast Centers (NCBC) and has published and presented extensively on breast cancer-related issues.

Dr. Rehany’s expertise spans various areas including MRI, CT Scan, Ultrasound, and Mammography. He excels in performing interval procedures under CT and ultrasound guidance.

He subsequently completed a combined residency in Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at Dalhousie University, obtaining dual certification in both specialties from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, before pursuing an Abdominal Imaging fellowship at Dalhousie University.

Dr. Karina Bukhanov is a Radiologist at VM Med and an Assistant Professor and breast radiologist at the University of Toronto. She has extensive experience in digital mammography, breast ultrasound, and breast MRI. Dr. Bukhanov introduced digital mammography in Canada and has multiple publications on the subject. She played a key role in establishing the Emanuelle Gattuso Rapid Diagnosis Clinic at Princess Margaret Hospital and is a member of the Quebec College of Physicians.

Dr. Sylvain Beaulieu leads Nuclear Medicine at VM Med. He is a board-certified Nuclear Medicine Specialist in Québec and Canada. He is an assistant professor at the University of Montreal and practices nuclear medicine at Maisonneuve Rosemont Hospital, specializing in PET/CT imaging. With fellowship training from the University of Washington Medical Center, he has extensive experience in PET imaging and research. Dr. Beaulieu has authored/co-authored numerous articles and abstracts, presented at international conferences, and conducted research on prostate cancer detection using PET imaging.

Dr. Christian Cohade is a board-certified Nuclear Medicine Specialist specializing in PET/CT imaging at VM Med. He is an assistant professor at the Université de Montréal and practices nuclear medicine at the Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) and Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital. With a two-year fellowship from Johns Hopkins Hospital, he conducted research using the first commercial PET/CT scanner in North America. Dr. Cohade has authored/co-authored numerous articles and abstracts, presented at international conferences, and is an Editorial Board Member for the “Journal of Nuclear Medicine.”

Dr Gerry N. Polyhronopoulos is a general surgeon on staff at VM Med. Dr. Polyhronopoulos completed his MD and his specialty training in general surgery, both at McGill University, and received his BSc (Cum Laude) from Boston College. 

During his residency he spent an extra year on research pertaining to Experimental Surgery – for which he was awarded best paper (Basic Science) by the Canadian Association of General Surgeons – at McGill University. Dr. Polyhronopoulos is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and is a member of many professional societies including the American College of Surgeons and the Canadian Association of General Surgeons. 

We are also the first Canadian member of the National Consortium of Breast Centers, a non-profit membership organization dedicated to excellence in breast health care. We also take pride in our Thyroid, Gynecology and Surgical centers as well as our multimodality imaging center which includes a wide range of scanning technology such as MRI, PET-CT, CT scan, ultrasound, X-ray, bone densitometry, digital breast tomosynthesis (mammography), arthrography, and nuclear medicine. Our highly qualified physicians and support staff provide courteous, personalized service to all our patients and strive to deliver accurate results in the shortest possible time. Appointments can be booked with little wait time, and in some cases on the same day.
